WELDING WELDING 1: PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Welding Pathway - Welding I Program includes classroom and laboratory experiences that develop a variety of skills in oxy-fuel cutting and basic welding. Welding is utilized in many industries, including automotive, construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding, oil refineries, and transportation. Some of the processes students learn in this program are GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, OxyAcetylene cutting, and Plasma Hand CNC cut. Emphasis is placed on safety at all times. OSHA standards and guidelines endorsed by the American Welding Society (AWS) are used. Instructional activities emphasize properties of metals, safety issues, blueprint reading, electrical principles, welding symbols, and mechanical drawing through projects and exercises that teach students how to weld and be prepared for postsecondary and career success. CARPENTRY CARPENTRY 1: PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Construction Trades Pathway - Carpentry Program is a hands-on program that includes both classroom and laboratory experiences. Specific skills include the formation, installation, and establishment of buildings, homes, and other structures. The attainment of these skills is put to the test as students work to construct a house! Our Students develop the skills and knowledge to become work-ready in a variety of construction trades. Through these experiences they’ll have opportunities to meet our local partners and community supporters while becoming OSHA certified. AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Automotive Service I pathway course provides a comprehensive introduction to automotive maintenance, electrical systems, brake systems, and steering and suspension. Students will learn to safely operate industry-standard tools and equipment while gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing modern vehicle systems. Topics include fundamental electrical concepts, braking system theory and repair, driveline service, and steering and suspension diagnostics. The Automotive Service II pathway builds on skills in the Automotive Service Technology Pathway, focusing on vehicle electrical systems, engine repair, climate control, and driveline service. Students will gain hands-on experience with diagnostics and repair, with opportunities for Co-Op and internships to enhance real-world learning.
