EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM OVERVIEW Students will be able to perform the skills needed in a time of emergency that could save someone’s life. During the fall semester, students will perform skills such as airway management, splinting of fractured bones, actions to take in a respiratory emergency, adult, child and infant CPR, and vital signs. During the spring semester, students will continue to add to their skill set in emergency first aid, analyzing different types of emergency situations, transporting patients, etc. Students will gain leadership skills developed through HOSA participation. Upon successful completion of the EMT class, students may be qualified to take the EMT national registry certification exam. To obtain the necessary clinical hours and patient contact, students must provide their own transportation to clinical sites. Clinic hours may be obtained weekday evenings or on the weekend, therefore, parents may provide that transportation, if necessary. PRE-NURSING: (CCMA) PRE-NURSING CCMA PROGRAM OVERVIEW The CNA Capstone Program provides advanced training in both patient care and clinical procedures commonly performed by Medical Assistants. Students will deepen their understanding of human anatomy, triage protocols, and office-based skills such as taking vital signs, performing venipuncture, ECGs, urinalysis, prescription writing, and dosage calculations. The course also covers Medical Law and Ethics, electronic health records, and behavioral health. Students may earn multiple certifications, including CCMA, CPR, HIPAA, FEMA, NHA CCMA, and Bloodborne Pathogens. VETERINARY SCIENCE VETERINARY SCIENCE PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Veterinary Science Pathway Program provides students with an opportunity to investigate the small and large animal veterinary industry through hands-on lab work. Students will learn: animal care, common office practices, medical terminology, laboratory procedures, animal diseases, animal anatomy and physiology and animal genetics. DENTAL CAREERS DENTAL CAREERS PROGRAM OVERVIEW This program introduces students to the field of dentistry through the perspectives of a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, and lab technician. Emphasis is placed on clinical and laboratory environments, equipment and instrument identification, oral anatomy, and sterilization techniques. Additional Coursework Dental Careers Capstone will provide the opportunity for increased skill development in clinical support through work-based learning experiences. Students will also prepare for the Radiation, Health and Safety which is third and final part of the NELDA certification. The capstone course may also provide the opportunity to review and prepare for the entire NELDA certification. ELECTRICAL ELECTRICAL I: PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Construction Trades Electrical I Pathway builds foundational skills in construction and electrical work, including tool use, safety, blueprint reading, and essential math and communication. Students earn the NCCER Electrical Level 1 certification, covering circuits, wiring, and the National Electrical Code. The advanced course deepens knowledge with alternating current, motors, and grounding, preparing students for NCCER Level 2 certification. This hands-on program provides industry-recognized credentials and career-ready skills. This program introduces scientific and mathematical principles applicable in the installation, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn an EPA certification. AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Automotive Service I pathway course provides a comprehensive introduction to automotive maintenance, electrical systems, brake systems, and steering and suspension. Students will learn to safely operate industry-standard tools and equipment while gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing modern vehicle systems. Topics include fundamental electrical concepts, braking system theory and repair, driveline service, and steering and suspension diagnostics. The Automotive Service II pathway builds on skills in the Automotive Service Technology Pathway, focusing on vehicle electrical systems, engine repair, climate control, and driveline service. Students will gain hands-on experience with diagnostics and repair, with opportunities for Co-Op and internships to enhance real-world learning.
